Smith & Associates Names New Director of Business Development.

Houston, Texas - Smith & Associates, the leading Independent Distributor of electronic components, announces the appointment of Philip Guyton to Director of Business Development.

Guyton will focus on issues regarding future expansion and business development for Smith & Associates in Houston and worldwide. In his new position, Guyton will work closely with Smith & Associates founders Bob and Lee Ackerley.

Guyton comes to Smith & Associates from the energy industry, where he worked for Dynegy in both business development and as a lead energy trader. Previous to Dynegy, Guyton worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for CEA, Inc. developing power projects in South America. He earned his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Auburn University and his MBA from Southern Methodist University.
