Smith & Associates Names Alan Han General Manager of Shanghai Office

(HOUSTON, TEXAS) November 9, 2009 - Smith & Associates announces Alan Han as the new General Manager of its Shanghai office. Alan has years of experience with Smith. During his almost twelve years with the company, he has served in important purchasing roles at Smith's Houston headquarters and, most recently, was the Shanghai-based Director of Purchasing for Asia. Alan's expertise in sourcing, his understanding of Chinese business practices and culture and his fluency with the Chinese language position him to lead the Shanghai office to even greater success.

Marc Barnhill, Smith's Chief Trading Officer, notes that "Alan combines hands-on experience with strategic thinking. His leadership in Shanghai will undoubtedly result in an expanded range of services for Smith customers in the region and growth for Smith in the China market."

Alan's duties will include the day-to-day management of the Shanghai office along with coordination with Smith's other Asia-based managers to ensure seamless service to Smith's global customer base.
